You see the preview before anything downloads. Leave days are net of reversals, a salary the system cannot read is named for you instead of quietly dropped, and the file is written so that Excel keeps the accents in your staff's names.

Expense claims

Submitted, approved, paid: three separate acts

Staff submit a claim from their phone with a photo of the slip. It goes to Finance, a role that sees claims and payroll and nothing else. Approved means everybody who had to sign off has done so. Paid is recorded separately, with a reference, because the gap between the two is money the business still owes somebody.

Asset register

Who has the laptop, the bakkie and the access card

Company property issued to staff and booked back in again, with the full holder history kept. An asset can only be issued to one person at a time, and that is enforced in the database rather than only on the screen. When somebody resigns, everything they still hold appears on the leavers view before their last day.

HR insights

Headcount, movement, turnover, and the gaps in your records

Starters and leavers by department, turnover for the period as it stands rather than annualised, average tenure, and leave and sickness patterns. Alongside those sits a data-quality list that states the consequence of each gap plainly. An employee with no contract on file is a breach of BCEA s29, and it is the most common finding against a small employer at the CCMA. Nothing on this page shows a rand figure for an individual.
