The right letter, with the right clauses
An employment contract shaped by the BCEA. Fourteen HR document types written to the section of the Act each one depends on. All on your letterhead, pre-filled from the employee record, and filed back against it.

Each document knows which section it answers to
These are not generic templates with the country changed. The transfer letter asks for agreement instead of instructing, and never cites LRA s197, because moving somebody between sites is not that kind of transfer. A probation outcome of "not confirmed" is a dismissal, so that letter carries s37 notice, s40 leave pay and the 30-day CCMA referral window.
Verbal warning, written warning, final written warning, notice of hearing, disciplinary outcome and precautionary suspension
The poor work performance letter, carrying the evaluation, the guidance and the improvement period the Code requires before any further step
Promotion, transfer, salary increase and probation confirmation. Each one revises the written particulars, and says so on the letter
Disciplinary code, grievance procedure and leave policy, with numbered sections and an effective date, ready for staff to acknowledge by signature
Blank fields fall back to the statutory minimum
Pick the employee, fill in what is specific to them, and leave the rest alone. Hours default to the BCEA's 45, notice to s37 and leave to Chapter Three. You get a contract you can hand over the same day, with no square brackets left in it for somebody to forget.
- Employer details from your company profile, employee details from their record
- Probation, fixed-term and permanent variants
- Send for e-signature from the same screen

Already have wording your attorney signed off?
Upload a Word document with placeholders, or build a template inside LetterUp, and choose it per document type. LetterUp fills it from the employee record and renders it on your letterhead. A placeholder it cannot fill is refused when you save, so it never turns up blank in a letter you have already handed over.
- An AI compliance check reports what a template is missing against the BCEA and LRA, and cites the section for every finding
- It advises and never blocks, and it will never call a document compliant
- Edit the template and the review badge greys out until the check is run again

Is this legal advice?
No. LetterUp is HR administration and document preparation software. Preparing an HR document is not the exclusive domain of attorneys under the Legal Practice Act, and every document the platform produces says so in its footer. What the platform gives you is the procedure and the wording done properly, in the right order, with the section it relies on written down.
What it does not give you is judgement about your particular case. Take a dismissal, a retrenchment or a CCMA referral to a labour attorney or a registered labour consultant. You will arrive with a complete, dated, signed file, which is most of what they ask for first.
